Using an innovative approach to planning and design, Rettler Corporation assisted the Green Bay Area School District with improvements at Aldo Leopold Community School. The existing playground and green space area was heavily utilized and on a steep slope, making it difficult for the District to keep the natural grass areas established and maintained. Rettler Corporation developed a plan incorporating a synthetic turf surface with a shock absorbing pad, creating a low-maintenance facility that is better suited to withstand heavy use. Retaining walls were also incorporated to reduce the playground slope. Located within a historic district, ornamental fencing was implemented adjacent to roadways, and mature trees were preserved.
